Santos, a leading Australian Oil and Gas company, contacted SGS Australia for a High Voltage/Low Voltage electrical commissioning project for their power systems on Varanus Island, Australia.
The main challenge was the short window of time in which the works were to coincide with their tight schedule in addition to the technical complexity of the work.
Under the leadership of Kevin Drake, Business Manager – Electrical Engineering Services, SGS worked closely with the customer to develop a plan to enable the project to meet the strict time restraints. Two senior protection electrical engineers were assigned to the project. Understanding the client’s needs from the start and careful project planning and execution has ensured SGS success in this project.
The combined team effort of Kevin with support from Peter West, GM and Head of Industries and Declan Higgins, National Commercial Manager ensured SGS will enjoy continued success on the Santos project for the future.
