Client benefits from first Australian lab dissolution test
The procedure came into use with the adoption of the new AGD code for the classification of dangerous goods to be transported. The testing requires setup as a 7-day dissolution test as per Annex 9 guidance from ‘OECD Environment, Health and Safety Publications.
An Australian toxicologist approached SGS to set a dissolution test on ore samples.
No Australian lab at the time performed this test and the toxicologist was having trouble finding a lab to set this up but SGS was willing to take on the challenge. A six-month period was initially utilised to develop a procedure to avoid contamination and ensure reproducibility and quality of the data.
SGS is currently the largest and most experienced supplier of dissolution tests to Australian market.
